Sturdevant House Could be Demolished

Despite surviving the floodwaters of 2008, the Ira Sturdevant House in Waverly might be demolished through a FEMA buyout. A sheriff’s sale also threatens the house. Ira’s great-great-great-grandson Rick and his wife, Kathy, hope to preserve the home as a historic site. Although the Sturdevants live in Colorado, they are working with local and state preservationists to find a way to save the house from demolition.
