Time to access state and federal rehab tax credits is now

Owners of historic properties can claim two years of qualified rehab costs on state and federal historic preservation tax credit applications. That means owners affected by the floods of 2008 need to act soon in order to claim cleanup costs associated with the disaster. The rehab tax credits are 25% of qualified rehab costs in the state tax credit program and up to 26% for federally declared disaster areas.
