In case you missed it back in December, Iowa’s country schools were featured in USA Today, along with a quote from Preservation Iowa’s board president Rod Scott. The story features the West Lancaster School #9 in Hayesville (slated to be demolished this year), East Lancaster School #1 near Hayesville (preserved), and Cole School near Boone (also preserved). The story was republished in the Des Moines Register shortly after its Dec 13 publication in USA Today.
