2013 & 2014 Iowa Downtown Summit RFP

The Iowa Downtown Resource Center, Iowa Department of Economic Development is seeking Western Iowa host sites for the 2013 (August 27 & 28) and 2014 (August 26 & 27) Iowa Downtown Summits. Anticipated attendance is 225-275. Conference meeting and reception facilities must be located downtown. The RFP was emailed to all of the communities in Western Iowa over the population of 5,000 and contains the host requirements in detail. The notification deadline to express interest in hosting the Iowa Downtown Summit for 2013 and / or 2014 is October 31, 2011. Please notify Debi Flanders by mail or email. It is not necessary to submit detailed proposals until communities are selected and site visits scheduled later this year.
The 2010 Iowa Downtown Summit was hosted in Davenport in August of 2010. The 2011 Iowa Downtown Summit was replaced with the National Main Streets Conference which was hosted in Des Moines in May. The 2012 Iowa Downtown Summit will be hosted in Keokuk on August 21-22, 2012.
