Main Street Iowa Economic Impact Report Summary Available

On January 31, 2013, the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) hosted the Main Street Iowa Economic Impact Symposium featuring Donovan Rypkema, the principal of Place Economics, who presented a summary of his findings from a recent study on the economic impacts of the Main Street Iowa program over the past 25 years. The findings of the report are a compelling argument for the success of historic preservation as an economic development tool in Iowa's Main Street communities. Download a black and white .pdf of Mr. Rypkema's PowerPoint presentation (note that this is a very large file and may take some time to download).
Further information on the IEDA Main Street Iowa Economic Impact Report will be posted when it becomes available.
