Images of the demolition of Cedar Rapids’ Roman Apartments have been posted at Eastern Iowa Business.com. The 1930’s era apartment building was torn down in January to make way for Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa’s planned medical mall. Green Development of Iowa City had coordinated efforts for the property’s relocation and redevelopment but fell through due to difficulties with financing. Elements of the building were salvaged prior to demolition by volunteers at the Iowa City Salvage Barn which is coordinated by Friends of Historic Preservation in Iowa City.
