Warren County Photo Contest

The Warren County Historic Preservation Commission is pleased to announce the inaugural photography contest for the residents of Warren County.

The photos must be of historic buildings or sites in Warren County. Any structure 50 years or older is eligible.

All entries must be received by 4 PM on August 30, 2013. Winners will be announced after September 20, 2013. Thirteen winners will be selected for a 2014 calendar to raise funds for the preservation of Warren County’s historic sites, buildings and districts. Winners will be honored at a reception in October 2013.

Submit unmounted 8” x 10” photographs illustrating historic sites, buildings or structures in Warren County. Significant manipulation of images as to make them appear unnatural is discouraged.

There is a $5 non-refundable entry fee for each entry that will also be used preservation of historic sites. Write entry fee checks to Warren County Historic Preservation Commission (WCHPC).An individual can submit as many entries as desired.

Please include the following information on a separate piece of paper, taped on the back of the photo(s):

Your name, e-mail address or phone number, full mailing address, age group and signature.

Age groups: Youth (under 18), Adult, or Senior (over 55)

Parent or legal guardian’s name, signature and contact information if under 18.

Photos should be 8” x 10”, unmounted and printed on photo paper. Color or black/white photos are acceptable.Significant manipulation of images as to make them appear unnatural is discouraged. (Images may have minor alterations for contrast, cropping, etc.)

Title and description (100 words or less) explaining why the subject of the photo was selected. Include the name and location of subject of photograph.

Write entry fee checks to Warren County Historic Preservation Commission (WCHPC).

Unless permission from the owner is granted, refrain from photographing private residences.

The entrant must take the photo, no group work allowed. Mail or deliver photo(s) to Historic Preservation Office address listed below. Package photo(s) between two sheets of corrugated cardboard or like material to prevent damage in the mail. The Commission reserves the right to exclude damaged entries. Names of winners may be released but contact information will not be released to the public. If selected as a winner, a jpg file of the photo in high resolution will be requested via email. All information must be legible for the entry to be valid. Entry images become property of the Warren County Historic Preservation Commission and will not be returned.
