2001 Development recent purchased the former Great Furniture Market building at 600 First Street SE in Cedar Rapids. Plans for the 95 year old brick grocery warehouse include a mix of financing and leasable office space. This project, in close proximity to the new federal building, could become one of few preservation successes to come out post flood of 2008 Cedar Rapids. The building was damaged after receiving water in 2008 but was spared extensive damage because of the buildings natural elevation six feet above ground level.
