Preservation Iowa has been helping descendants of Ira and Asenath Sturdevant preserve the historic Sturdevant home in Waverly, damaged during the 2008 floods. Built of brick in 1855 and 1856, the Ira and Asenath Sturdevant house is the oldest surviving dwelling in Waverly, Iowa. When the restoration is finished, it will be opened to the public as a community, educational, living-history site.
